Make Hub is a shared co-working space and a business incubator that favors the creation of new business opportunities for local development.
Created in Licata, in the province of Agrigento, from the union of young people and professionals from the entrepreneurial, creative and Sicilian innovation ecosystem, its goal is to develop networking, training and mentoring actions for young people and businesses.
Thanks, in part, to the support of the Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani, Make Hub implements projects and initiatives aimed at:
– promoting the birth and growth of socially responsible businesses, especially among young people, in the agricultural and agri-business sector;
– stimulating social cohesion and community development.
In the innovative workspace of Licata (AG), services are offered to young people and businesses, and introductory courses to STEM materials for school children, as well as initiatives for spreading the principles of sustainability in the agri-business and tourism sectors are organized.
In the territory of Licata and the surrounding area, in fact, there are several excellent companies in the agricultural, wine and restaurant sectors, which offer work opportunities to young people and pass down traditions while also innovating the sector.
Currently, two start-ups are being incubated at Make Hub: Huduma and Agrowireless. The first is a portal dedicated to home care and winner of the Startup Europe Awards, an award promoted by the European Commission, which was one of the first calls for ideas with a strong social impact promoted by Cariplo Factory. Agrowireless, on the other hand, is a start-up that has developed automated wireless control systems for components intended for irrigation and farm security.
