BeYOU Toolkit: useful to lead your community towards change and sustainable development
The *Educational Toolkit on Social Generativity and Youth-Led Community Development*is a digital resource designed to support young leaders and youth workers in promoting sustainable community development initiatives. Developed as part of the European project *[BeYOU - Boosting Sustainability and Social Change through Youth-Led Community Development,](https://fcagrigentotrapani.it/en/progetto/beyou/)* this toolkit provides practical guidance on how to engage young people in creating innovative social initiatives, encouraging their active and responsible participation in their communities.
Funded by the Erasmus+ program and coordinated by the Fondazione Comunitaria di Agrigento e Trapani, BeYOU aims to empower youth as key drivers of social change and sustainable development within their communities. The project supported the implementation and evaluation of 20 sustainable development initiatives, designed by young leaders aged 18-25, with the assistance of youth workers aged 25-35.
What is the purpose of the toolkit?
The Educational Toolkit offers resources and tools that can easily be replicated in other European communities. Available in five languages (EN, IT, ES, RO, GR), it is based on the concepts of Social Generativity and Community Development. It demonstrates how an empowering approach—like that used in the BeYOU project—can create a lasting impact on social initiatives.
A key feature of the toolkit is the Youth Community Incubator Program, a practical guide that walks young people through the creation, management, and growth of local development projects. It explains the Theory of Change and provides tools for Project Management, offering practical methodologies to turn youth needs into concrete projects and support them from ideation to implementation. The toolkit also includes guidance on planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
Finally, the toolkit showcases examples of youth-led initiatives already launched across various European communities through BeYOU, aiming to inspire and offer replicable models for other regions.

Why is it useful?
The Educational Toolkit is not only a training resource but also an operational tool. Youth workers can use it to help young people develop essential skills in designing, managing, and monitoring social projects. It also includes tools for measuring the impact of initiatives and offers strategies to ensure their sustainability over time.
The toolkit bridges the gap between theory and practice, empowering young people to become agents of change within their communities, contributing to more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable development across Europe.
About the BeYOU Project
BeYOU is a project selected and co-financed by the Erasmus+ program under Key Action 3, European Youth Together. The project is coordinated by the Fondazione Comunitaria di Agrigento e Trapani in partnership with Organization Earth (Greece), ANDCTR (Romania), Hub Nicosia (Cyprus), and the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares (Spain).
