Co-working rhymes with good and fair work

A few months ago, in the heart of Trapani's historic centre, the second coworking space of ‘Beehive - Valore sud’, the social enterprise promoted by the Fondazione Comunitaria to promote work through south working, was opened.

The project to open this second coworking space in Trapani was also made possible thanks to the support of the Diocese of Trapani. In fact, the coworking space is located on the third floor of the Bishop's Palace in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, 42, in the historic centre of Trapani.

It is not just a physical place, but a symbol of an active and interconnected community; a space that becomes a place that is an ecosystem in which each member, with his or her skills and passions, actively contributes to the collective wellbeing. It is a real laboratory of ideas and solutions to work on the sustainable and digital transition of our communities, and on the education of the youngest.

But let's start at the beginning: what is Beehive? Beehive, founded in 2021 by three guys from Trapani, Sergio Parisi, Giuseppe Rizzo and Gianfranco Incandela, is much more than a coworking space. It is a social enterprise that acts as a catalyst, attracting companies from all over Italy to open offices in Sicily, creating jobs and bridging the gap between labour supply and demand in the region.

Beehive president Sergio Parisi comments: ‘Slowly we are transforming the South-Working phenomenon into a sustainable operation for companies and communities, creating a unique model that stimulates economic and professional growth in Sicily.’

This second opening is the result of the positive synergy between Beehive and the Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani, which has created a project that aims to create opportunities for young talent and Italian companies.

A shared vision has led the Community Foundation and Beehive to work together to offer young Sicilians the chance to choose to stay, work and build a life in the land they love. Pietro Basiricò, President of the Fondazione Comunitaria, underlines: ‘We have generated an important social, cultural and economic impact for our community. Many young people work here, for several important companies that have hired them,' he says.

Beehive has become the meeting point in Trapani between leading national and international companies and young professionals in the area, creating an environment for personal and professional growth.

Open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the coworking space invites all those interested to contribute to its ecosystem, offering a place where ideas, projects and solutions can be born, grow and spread, generating benefits not only for those actively involved, but for the entire community.
