Drop-in: Guidelines for Inclusive and Sustainable Digital Education realeased
The Fondazione Comunitaria di Agrigento e Trapani has published the Guidelines for Inclusive and Sustainable Digital Education, a document designed to provide clear and practical guidance for the design and implementation of innovative educational activities. This tool is aimed at schools, third-sector organizations, and other educational stakeholders interested in promoting digital teaching that integrates technology, inclusivity, and sustainability.
Objectives and content
The Guidelines aim to offer both theoretical and practical support for designing and implementing digital educational activities that meet the needs of students and their communities. The document is flexible and adaptable to various educational contexts, allowing anyone to customize activities according to their specific requirements.
The Drop-in project
The foundation of the Guidelines is the experience gained from the Drop-in project, funded by Con i Bambini and co-financed by the Fondazione Peppino Vismara. Conducted between April 2021 and December 2024, Drop-in actively involved the provinces of Agrigento, Trapani, and Lecco, with the goal of supporting the transition to adulthood for adolescents by providing resources and opportunities not only to the directly involved youth but also to their families, educators, and the broader educational community.
The Educational Format TILT - Inclusive Technologies for Free Talents
One of the key elements of the Guidelines is the educational format TILT - Inclusive Technologies for Free Talents. Designed for high school students and developed with the support of the Fondazione Golinelli, TILT aims to develop technical skills in creative digital teaching, inspiring an approach centered on sustainability and social utility. Through the challenge-based learning method, students face real and meaningful challenges; the challenges identified so far by the Fondazione Comunitaria concern two areas: responsible and sustainable tourism and women's empowerment.
An innovative approach
The Guidelines are based on solid pedagogical approaches and significant best practices. They begin with the illustration of European competency frameworks (DigComp, LifeComp, and EntreComp), followed by an exposition of reference methodologies such as challenge-based learning, design thinking, and hacker ethics. In the second part of the document, practical and flexible educational tools for implementing the activities are presented.
Towards creative Digital Education focused on sustainability
Through these Guidelines, we aim to guide those who design, educate, and train towards an innovative approach to creative digital education. The goal is to prepare new generations to face the challenges of the digital world consciously, promoting the sustainable growth of communities.These Guidelines represent a methodological and practical journey, offering valuable guidance for education that integrates advanced technologies, inclusivity, and sustainability.
The Drop-in project was selected by Con i Bambini as part of the Fund for Combating Juvenile Educational Poverty and co-financed by the Fondazione Peppino Vismara. The Fund is the result of an agreement between the banking foundations represented by Acri, the National Forum of the Third Sector, and the Government. It supports initiatives aimed at removing economic, social, and cultural barriers that hinder the full enjoyment of educational processes by minors.
