Drop-in, the School of Trades Resumes Activities

Regarding the Drop-in project, at the end of September, the second year of activities of the short vocational training courses started at the craft workshops of the Euroform Professional Training Center. The Drop-in project – selected by Con i Bambini within the framework of the Fund to combat educational poverty in minors – aims to support the transition to adult life for adolescents, helping and encouraging them to build their own life project.

The activities are carried out in Licata (AG) and Mazara del Vallo (TP) and are aimed at small groups of young people at high risk of school dropout, who neither have a diploma nor marketable skills. The concrete risk for these young people is prolonged exclusion from both the educational and working worlds. To counteract this risk, girls and boys have been involved, and continue to be, in workshops aimed at socialization, the construction of group work, school commitment, and learning techniques to promote and facilitate entry into the world of work in the wellness sector (hairdressing and aesthetics).

The age of the participating girls and boys is between 14 and 16 years: in Licata, 20 young people (15 girls and 5 boys) are involved in two parallel courses, and in Mazara del Vallo, 12 young people (6 girls and 6 boys) are involved. The meetings take place twice a week from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The Drop-in project was selected by Con i Bambini within the framework of the Fund to combat educational poverty in minors and is co-financed by the Peppino Vismara Foundation. The lead partner of the Drop-in project is La Grande Casa Società Cooperativa Sociale di Sesto San Giovanni (MI), while the partners of the Sicilian network are the Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani, the Solidalia Consortium, and the Euroform Association.
