FA BENE. Memorandum of Understanding Signed with Slow Food Trapani

A new memorandum of understanding has been signed, and with this, the "Fa Bene" network is enriched: the Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani and the Slow Food Trapani Convivium will collaborate for the implementation of some joint initiatives within the "Fa Bene" project, a community-based tool aimed at reducing opportunity inequalities through food.

The Slow Food Trapani Convivium is the organized core of members of the international Slow Food Association operating in the province of Trapani. Slow Food is a network present in 150 countries around the world that, through its 1,500 local convivia, carries out actions aimed at changing the current and unsustainable system of food production and marketing, restoring the rightful value to food, in respect of those who produce it, in harmony with the environment and ecosystems, thanks to the knowledge of which territories and local traditions are custodians. Goals totally shared with "Fa Bene" and that led us to work in synergy.

The Slow Food Trapani Convivium will enrich "Fa Bene" with its extensive network of local short supply chain producers who operate respecting the principles of ethics and sustainability, but also by bringing "Fa Bene" closer to the community of the Convivium, people and families sensitive to the themes of responsible food consumption.

Furthermore, as we have told you about the Slow Food Agrigento Convivium, the Trapani one will also support the Foundation in the realization of educational, recreational, and experiential activities for the Family Purchasing Groups and schools in the province of Trapani. These activities aim to create community around food, but also awareness of the need to make the agri-food system sustainable and our purchasing choices responsible.
