Futurama: kicking off the second year of STEAM workshops, active citizenship, and career guidance

With the start of the new school year, activities for the **Futurama** project resume—selected by Con i Bambini as part of the Fund to combat educational poverty and co-funded by Fondazione Cassa Depositi e Prestiti—now entering its second year of implementation. The initiative aims to promote basic skills in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), encourage active citizenship, and support career guidance for adolescents aged 14 to 17 in the provinces of Agrigento and Trapani.
Second-Year Workshops
This year, students from the Sciascia e Bufalino Secondary School in Erice (TP) and the Odierna Secondary School in Palma di Montechiaro (AG) will once again participate in innovative and dynamic workshops, divided into three main areas:
- STEAM: Courses designed to stimulate learning in scientific disciplines through integrated methods, aimed at developing both technical and soft skills.
- Active Citizenship: Activities that strengthen social awareness and a sense of community, encouraging young people to actively participate in public life.
- Career Guidance: Practical workshops and meetings with industry experts to help students explore career opportunities and develop skills for entering the job market.
##
Achievements and new developments
The first year of Futurama received highly positive feedback, both in terms of participation and its impact on the skills of the young participants. This second year will continue with a similar structure but includes new additions to further enrich the learning experience: the involvement of new local partners and the organization of events to develop the educational community, fostering collaboration among students, teachers, and families.
An innovative educational model
Futurama stands out for its integrated and multidisciplinary approach, focusing not only on theoretical learning but also on the personal and social growth of students. Its dual objective is to provide young people with concrete tools to tackle future challenges and contribute to local community development through the empowerment of the younger generation.

The future is now
The activities of Futurama’s second year represent another step in an ambitious journey aimed at creating a more inclusive, sustainable, and innovation-oriented educational system. Students, supported by teachers, experts, and local partners, will once again be at the center of an experience that combines knowledge, creativity, and responsibility.
Stay tuned to follow Futurama’s developments and discover the stories of the young people shaping their future!

The Futurama project was selected by Con i Bambini as part of the Fund to combat educational poverty and co-funded by Fondazione Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. The Fund is the result of an agreement between banking foundations represented by Acri, the National Forum of the Third Sector, and the Government. It supports initiatives aimed at removing economic, social, and cultural barriers that hinder minors' full access to educational processes. To implement the Fund’s programs, the social enterprise Con i Bambini—a non-profit organization wholly owned by Fondazione CON IL SUD—was established in June 2016.
