Memorandum of Understanding Signed on the FA BENE Project between the Community Foundation and the Slow Food Convivium of Agrigento

We are pleased to announce that a memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani and the Slow Food Convivium of Agrigento. The collaboration is aimed at implementing several joint initiatives within the scope of "Fa Bene," a project of the Foundation that aims to reduce inequalities through food (to learn more about the project, see previous news: FA BENE. The Slow Food Convivium of Agrigento is the organized nucleus of members of the International Slow Food Association, active in the territory of the province of Agrigento, and is also committed to restoring the rightful value of food by promoting good, clean, and fair food for all.

The commonality of goals with the "Fa Bene" project made this collaboration desirable, enriching the project with valuable skills, knowledge, and networks of relationships. Indeed, thanks to the Slow Food Convivium, "Fa Bene" will be able to count on a wide network with local short supply chain producers who operate respecting the principles of ethics and sustainability, but also with the civil community sensitive to the themes of responsible food consumption.

Furthermore, to further raise awareness, the Slow Food Convivium will support the Foundation in carrying out educational, recreational, and experiential activities that spread the need to "convert" to good and fair food, i.e., food produced respecting the environment and its producers. The joint goal will be to stimulate the initiation of an educational and emulative process regarding ethical and sustainable purchasing and production practices.

While waiting to start the "Fa Bene" project, and for the times to allow the much-desired and necessary community and social opportunities, the Community Foundation and the Slow Food Convivium are committed to planning, imagining activities, tools, and strategies in favor of developing a good and fair food economy.
