Memorandum of understanding with the Municipality of Ravanusa

The Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani and the Municipality of Ravanusa (AG) have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at promoting joint local development actions through the co-design approach. The memorandum of understanding, signed last Dec. 16, is an example of how third sector entities and public administration can work together for the common good.
The agreement aims to promote, in particular, joint actions in the following areas of intervention: community development, education, sustainability, inclusion and cohesion, digital transition, ecological transition, and social enterprise.
Present at the signing, in addition to Community Foundation President Pietro Basiricò, were Ravanusa Mayor Salvatore Pitrola, Education Councillor Michele Di Pasquali and City Council Vice President Gabriele Giarrana.
Community Foundation President Pietro Basiricò said, "We strongly wanted to sign this agreement to promote collaboration between the third sector and public administration with the vision of incentivizing concrete system actions capable of providing answers to the needs of our community in the areas of intervention of the community foundation: local development, inclusive education, social enterprise and sustainability."
The importance of such an agreement for the Municipality of Ravanusa and the Community Foundation is also part of the possibility of taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the PNRR and European programming for Euro-Mediterranean cooperation using the tools of co-programming and co-design provided by the Third Sector Code.
This alliance underscores the importance of developing a socio-economic planning network for the territory that can enhance the skills and peculiarities of the third sector for the sustainable development of our communities.
