Micropolis: communities at the service of child well-being through crowdfunding

Three places, three projects, one goal: to promote the well-being of children and their families in fragile contexts. "Insieme Educare" is the project that will launch a parent training course in Agrigento, equipping parents with the knowledge, skills, and emotional support they need to face the daily challenges of parenting during the crucial period of child development. In Marsala, the “Micropolis Park” project will create an inclusive play area designed not only for play and learning but also as a space celebrating diversity and promoting mutual respect within the community. In Mazara del Vallo, the “Crescere con cura” (Growing with care) initiative will provide support to three families in fragile situations through home care, with a team of educators, social workers, and health workers accompanying and aiding in the educational development of their children. These initiatives will be carried out respectively in the three educational spaces of Agrigento, Marsala, and Mazara del Vallo, as part of the “MICROPOLIS: A new community welfare model” project, selected by Con i Bambini as part of the Fund for combating juvenile educational poverty. The three projects were conceived and will be managed by Micropolis' partners: Consorzio Solidalia, the Istituto Comprensivo Mario Nuccio, and the Eduverso Association in Marsala; Associazione Casa della Comunità Speranza in Mazara del Vallo; and Familia Società Cooperativa Sociale in Agrigento.
To support these three projects, the Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani has launched a community crowdfunding program. The initiatives have been published on Intesa Sanpaolo's crowdfunding platform 'For Funding,' with which the Community Foundation collaborates. Once the amount raised through community crowdfunding reaches 50% of the total amount needed to realize the projects, the Community Foundation will contribute the remaining 50%.
Through this program, the Foundation aims to promote a culture of giving within the community and provide direct support through co-financing initiatives for children in fragile contexts, with the aim of equalizing opportunities and capabilities for children and families facing severe deprivation). To learn more and support these projects, visit the crowdfunding campaigns:Insieme EducareAgrigentoMicropolis ParkMarsalaCrescere con CuraMazara del Vallo
