Signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Municipality of Mazara del Vallo for adolescent well-being

Fondazione Comunitaria of Agrigento and Trapani and the Municipality of Mazara del Vallo have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at promoting local development through the co-design of interventions focused on the well-being of adolescents. This agreement marks an important step toward collaboration between third-sector organizations and public administration.
The agreement falls under the framework of the **project "Sfide – Generazioni in Crescita,"** funded by the European Union through the Next Generation EU program and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). Its goal is to combat educational poverty and reduce school dropout rates, particularly among young people aged 11 to 17 in Mazara del Vallo.
The agreement involves the creation of a co-design committee that will engage various local stakeholders—institutions, third-sector entities, businesses, and citizens—to develop policies and interventions that positively impact adolescent well-being. Specifically, the "Child Municipality Policy" initiative aims to create an environment conducive to the development of young people by focusing on their needs and promoting their active participation.
The signed agreement marks the beginning of a collaboration that, while starting within the context of the project, has the potential to extend well beyond its initial objectives. The joint actions aim not only to improve adolescent well-being but also to establish a stable co-design network between the Municipality and the Foundation. This network will be focused on promoting the long-term development of the territory and its community, enhancing local resources, and addressing crucial challenges such as the digital and ecological transitions, as well as fostering social inclusion and community cohesion.
The Agrigento and Trapani Community Foundation and the Municipality of Mazara del Vallo will work side by side to ensure that young people in the area have access to quality educational opportunities and spaces where they can grow and develop harmoniously, contributing to the well-being of the entire community.
