The Community Foundation at CNEL for the presentation of the ASviS Territori 2024 report

On December 13, the CNEL headquarters in Rome hosted the presentation of the ASviS Territori 2024 Report. The Fondazione Comunitaria di Agrigento e Trapani contributed by sharing insights on the T.R.A.P. project, selected by ASviS as one of the best territorial practices featured in the report. The event provided an overview of the progress made by Italian Regions, Provinces, and Metropolitan Cities toward the 2030 Agenda Goals, highlighting critical challenges such as hydrogeological risks, soil consumption, and territorial inequalities, as well as advances in areas like the circular economy and education.

The event attracted a large and interactive audience, reaching over 305,000 people and garnering more than 84,000 live views across ASviS’s digital platforms and media partners, including ANSA, Radio Radicale, and Repubblica. Key figures such as Renato Brunetta, President of CNEL, and Pierluigi Stefanini, President of ASviS, emphasized the importance of inter-institutional coordination and the active role of intermediary bodies and civil society in tackling sustainability challenges.

The Contribution of the Fondazione Comunitaria

The Fondazione Comunitaria di Agrigento e Trapani participated in the event to showcase its commitment to promoting local sustainable development. During her speech, Daniela Avanzato, Local Cooperation Programs Coordinator of the Foundation, outlined how the organization, since its establishment in 2019, has launched over 30 projects in 35 Sicilian municipalities. These initiatives address local challenges such as educational poverty, community empowerment, and support for social entrepreneurship.

Her presentation focused on the T.R.A.P. project—**Tutt Rivendichiamo Altre Prospettive*** —selected by Con i Bambini under the Fund for Combating Educational Poverty in Children and recognized by ASviS as one of the best territorial practices in the 2024 Report. The project exemplifies a virtuous model of inclusion, empowering young people to become agents of change.

Looking to the Future with Determination

The Foundation’s intervention fit into a broader discussion on how local areas can become engines of positive change by combining strategic vision with concrete actions. As Daniela Avanzato, Coordinator of Local Cooperation Programs, stated during her speech:

"We are firmly convinced that change comes through young people. At the Foundation, we will continue to work to ensure they have increasing opportunities to grow, learn, and contribute to building a fairer and more sustainable society."

The T.R.A.P. project and the Youth Bank initiative demonstrate how an integrated approach, involving young people as key players, can deliver tangible benefits for local communities and contribute to achieving the SDGs.
