LA COOPERATIVA SOCIALE ARCOBALENO
In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, physical distancing rules have exacerbated mobility difficulties for the elderly and people with disabilities, making access to transport services critical. This scenario has made the need for safe and accessible transport solutions to ensure the mobility and autonomy of these more vulnerable groups particularly evident. The Cooperativa Sociale Arcobaleno, operating in Valderice (TP), has recognised these emerging needs in its territory.

Territory
Valderice (Trapani)
Objective
The aim of the project "Ripartiamo insieme: sali a bordo" was to respond effectively to the growing transport needs of the elderly and people with disabilities in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The intention was to exclude no one from the service and to ensure more effective assistance in the territory, addressing the difficulties imposed by physical distancing rules.
Activities
Within the framework of the project "Ripartiamo insieme: sali a bordo", the Cooperativa Sociale Arcobaleno purchased an additional vehicle equipped for the transport of people with wheelchairs. This investment resulted in an expansion of the cooperative's service capacity, enabling it to assist a greater number of people in the territory.
The role of the Community Foundation
The Community Foundation supported the project "Ripartiamo insieme: Sali a bordo" of the Cooperativa Sociale Arcobaleno, which was part of the "Ripartenze Inclusive" crowdfunding programme, the call that selected community projects. Thanks to the collaboration with the ForFunding platform of Intesa Sanpaolo, the Third Sector organisations selected together with the Community Foundation launched a community crowdfunding campaign. Upon reaching 30% of the amount needed to implement the project, the Community Foundation co-funded the project with the remaining 70%.
