LA CASA DI STEFY
According to ISTAT surveys, in our country in 2019, people with disabilities, i.e. those who suffer from serious health limitations that prevent them from carrying out usual activities, number 3 million 150 thousand (5.2% of the population). It therefore becomes central to promote a truly inclusive and welcoming community that helps maintain acquired autonomy and supports the conquest of new skills and knowledge.

Objective
"La Casa di Stefy" is a project of the Santa Maria di Gesù social cooperative in Cammarata that involves the strengthening of a day centre capable of providing a real response to the relational and social needs expressed by people living with disabilities, young people in situations of social disadvantage and elderly people living alone through moments of aggregation and the implementation of socio-educational and creative workshops.
Activities
The day centre offers people with disabilities an environment with a positive and listening relational climate that favours the maintenance and development of skills in the cognitive and social sphere through specific workshops and socialisation activities.
The project stems from the twenty-year experience of the L'Arca Association, which bases its actions on welcoming the needs of young people and adults with disabilities, promoting socio-educational initiatives and activities with the aim of fostering an ever greater culture of autonomy and inclusion.
To enable such an ambitious project to become concrete, some volunteers from the L'Arca Association decided to set up a social cooperative in 2017 which, in close collaboration with the association, follows the various phases of the implementation and management of the day centre.
The role of the Community Foundation
The day centre of the "La Casa di Stefy" project is built in a large three-storey building in Cammarata (AG) where renovation and adaptation work is underway to make it a more welcoming and functional place for the support activities of people with disabilities. The Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani supports the project activities through co-funding.

Thanks to a strategic alliance between schools, universities and guidance and innovation centres, ALICE offers personalised counselling, transdisciplinary learning experiences and advanced tools to support young people in building their professional future.

The project aims to promote a sustainable management of European agricultural resources, placing viticulture as a driving sector in the ecological transition. Through the use of artificial intelligence and innovative digital tools, the initiative intends to provide new skills to agricultural professionals and improve the training offer in vocational education and training (VET). With a collaborative approach between European institutions, agricultural producers and educators, the project seeks to strengthen the European network in viticulture, increase individual competitiveness and ensure an inclusive and sustainable transition towards new models of agroecological management.
