Project objective
Our objective is to effectively tackle educational poverty and school dropout through non-formal and formal education techniques, training and vocational guidance for minors at risk of cultural and social exclusion and to promote cross-cutting activities to develop their abilities, specific skills and strengthen intercultural relations.
Target audience
The project targets minors aged 11 to 17 in vulnerable situations in the Mazara del Vallo area.
Activities
The project promotes four main actions to tackle minor educational poverty:
Educational workshops – Life skills: This action focuses on creating spaces and workshops designed to offer minors an educational and creative offer that develops their cross-cutting skills and cognitive abilities. The workshops are: Intergenerational creative space; Digital ateliers; Faberlab; Innovative school; Digital community; Green Jobs.
Transition and accompaniment to work – Pre-work orientation: The programme includes accompaniment and training to support young people in developing their individual projects and to provide information and training on career paths, proposed training (agri-food, catering and mechatronics) and the labour market, matching attitudes and personal aspirations.
Educating Community – Child Municipality Policy: the city friendly to girls and boys: The activity aims to support alliances and trust networks through an open table bringing together and engaging local stakeholders. The table will collect needs, plan, identify resources, monitor and document interventions and policies. It will also plan meetings on adolescent life and wellbeing in the municipality.
Development of teacher training courses: The programme aims to raise awareness among lower secondary teachers on the importance of artistic tools for life skills and resilience and to improve knowledge of socio-emotional skills and strategies for upper secondary students through coach-based courses.

47 families that have improved their relational skills and educational practice
40 teachers, educators and trainers who have improved their knowledge of socio-emotional skills and transfer capacity

ALICE STEM
ALICE STEM aims to inspire and guide 500 high school students in the city and province of Palermo and in the province of Agrigento towards STEM careers, with particular attention to electronic engineering. The project seeks to overcome gender and territorial barriers through innovative methods, interconnected technology laboratories and an inclusive and competent educational network. Thanks to a strategic alliance between schools, universities and guidance and innovation centres, ALICE offers personalised counselling, transdisciplinary learning experiences and advanced tools to support young people in building their professional future.

STIV
The project aims to promote a sustainable management of European agricultural resources, placing viticulture as a driving sector in the ecological transition. Through the use of artificial intelligence and innovative digital tools, the initiative intends to provide new skills to agricultural professionals and improve the training offer in vocational education and training (VET). With a collaborative approach between European institutions, agricultural producers and educators, the project seeks to strengthen the European network in viticulture, increase individual competitiveness and ensure an inclusive and sustainable transition towards new models of agroecological management.
