TILT

Inclusive Technologies for Free Talents

TILT

Territory

Canicattì (Agrigento)

Implementation period

July 2023 – June 2024

Project objective

TILT! is an educational pathway that aims to combat educational poverty and bring adolescents closer to the world of work. Through a "learning by doing" approach, TILT! intends to develop technical skills in creative digital teaching and transversal skills.

The initiatives of the TILT! educational programme aim to fill the gap in STEAM subjects and the lack of guidance activities for adolescents interested in new professions, especially digital and technological ones.

Target audience

The TILT! project targets 46 students aged 17 to 19 attending the "Galileo Galilei" Institute in Canicattì.

Activities

The educational pathway "TILT! Female Empowerment and Gender Equality" is based on the "Challenge Based Learning" method and aims to raise young people's awareness of the importance of gender equality in the world of work. The final objective is the creation of a communication artefact that promotes the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs).

During the pathway, participants will have the opportunity to experiment with various technologies and tools, including Risograph, ChatGPT, 3D printers and rapid prototyping, interaction tools, web development, graphic design, digital and social platforms.

The programme is divided into three main units: Learn > Practise > Reflect.

Learn: in this first phase of the programme, participants acquire the basic knowledge and methodologies needed to work independently on the proposed activity and fully immerse themselves in the theme. With the help of external experts and case studies, participants will be able to deepen the theme and bring out the connections between the theme addressed and the real world.

Practise: in this phase, the challenge is addressed in a practical and project-based way, through the design and rapid experimentation of solutions. This unit also includes a design phase, from which the actual results of the programme will emerge.

Reflect: the final phase is dedicated to celebration and reflection. As a closing "ritual", participants will reflect on the journey taken and the challenges overcome together with the facilitators to consolidate the experience and the relationships established. In this phase, the work done will be collectively presented to external figures, peers or the community at large. Beyond the acquisition of skills, the personal and emotional growth of the individual is a primary objective of Tilt!
