Project objective
Our objective is to promote active citizenship and initiative among young people living in rural areas, fostering their social entrepreneurship.
Target audience
The project targets girls and boys aged 14 to 19 from rural and geographically marginalised areas of Sicily (IT), Galicia (ES) and central Portugal, with fewer opportunities for educational and professional growth.
Activities
The project promotes four main actions to provide transversal and leadership skills to young beneficiaries, supporting their personal, educational and professional development:
Launch of the transnational YouLeaders programme A capacity-building course for girls and boys (aged 14 to 19) living in rural areas in the project territories, structured into the following modules/curricula: Social Innovation, Gender Equality, Sustainability and Climate Change, Digital Skills. The course will be delivered in a blended mode, with an e-learning platform and in-presence meetings such as workshops, national and transnational multiplier events ("Hackathon Day" in Belgium).
Development of a training programme for teachers and educators (training for trainers) An online and offline pathway aimed at developing skills such as the valorisation and assessment of learning pathways, needed to implement and facilitate the YouLeaders programme in line with the project's objectives and the local context.
Formulation of a Syllabus A comprehensive handbook on the YouLeaders programme and the training pathway for teachers, co-created with beneficiaries and key project stakeholders. The objective of the Syllabus is to provide guidelines for developing youth leadership and communities at local level, offering key tools to engage and train future young leaders as promoters of sustainable local development.
Intermediate and final evaluation reports Two reports dedicated to testing the implemented learning pathway and identifying recommendations, corrective actions and lessons learned to ensure the sustainability and replicability of the YouLeaders model.
Impact
90 young leaders (girls and boys) from rural areas of south-western Europe involved in the activities
15 facilitators/teachers directly involved in the activities
15 members of local organisations and institutions in the field of youth policies and social entrepreneurship involved in the activities
200 participants from secondary schools, youth organisations, public and private institutions working on inclusive education and training, youth empowerment and professional development, involved in dissemination activities

Through the use of artificial intelligence and innovative digital tools, the initiative intends to provide new skills to agricultural professionals and improve the training offer in vocational education and training (VET). With a collaborative approach between European institutions, agricultural producers and educators, the project seeks to strengthen the European network in viticulture, increase individual competitiveness and ensure an inclusive and sustainable transition towards new models of agroecological management.
