Bilancio Sociale 2023: Come un giardino

Coltivare la speranza è un principio cardine per la Fondazione di Comunità: caratterizza tutto il nostro agire. Il bilancio sociale è quindi per noi uno strumento di rendicontazione delle responsabilità, dei comportamenti e dei risultati sociali, ambientali ed economici delle attività svolte. Di seguito trovate la “Lettera alla Comunità” con la quale presentiamo il senso del lavoro svolto nel corso dello scorso anno ed alla fine il Bilancio Sociale completo da poter scaricare e leggere.Come un giardinoQuest'anno abbiamo voluto tracciare e raccontare il nostro percorso guidati da un'immagine potente e suggestiva: quella del giardino pantesco. Il giardino pantesco è un'opera muraria tipica dell’isola di Pantelleria: è una struttura antica e ingegnosa che protegge e nutre la vita nonostante le difficoltà. È composto da mura circolari di pietra lavica e permette la creazione di un microclima ideale per la crescita rigogliosa di piante in un ambiente altrimenti ostile all’agricoltura. All'interno di queste mura trovano riparo dal vento, ricevendo l'umidità necessaria per prosperare, gli alberi di agrumi. E, nonostante questa protezione, il giardino pantesco rimane un sistema aperto agli scambi non avendo un tetto. La nostra Fondazione di Comunità ormai da diversi anni e, in particolare, durante il 2023 ha operato alla stregua di un vero e proprio giardino pantesco contribuendo alla costruzione di muri di sostegno, di solidarietà e di impegno civico attorno alla nostra comunità. Pur rimanendo un ecosistema aperto. In questo modo abbiamo creato in molteplici occasioni uno spazio sicuro dove le idee, le iniziative e i sogni potessero germogliare e crescere. In un contesto spesso complesso e difficile, abbiamo lavorato instancabilmente per coltivare il potenziale e sostenere le persone e le organizzazioni accanto alle quali camminiamo passo dopo passo. Quest’anno, abbiamo promosso iniziative sociali che hanno rafforzato il senso di comunità e appartenenza; abbiamo realizzato progetti educativi che hanno dato ai giovani l'opportunità di crescere e sviluppare le loro capacità; abbiamo sostenuto progetti d’impresa sociale che hanno valorizzato il nostro patrimonio e dato opportunità di lavoro a persone che oggi vivono momenti di fragilità. Ogni programma, ogni progetto, ogni iniziativa, ogni piccolo passo avanti è stato possibile grazie al contributo costante dei nostri partner, sostenitori e volontari. Come le pietre che costituiscono il giardino pantesco, ognuno di voi è stato fondamentale nel costruire questa infrastruttura di speranza e possibilità. Guardiamo al futuro con la stessa visione e concretezza che ci hanno guidato finora. Siamo consapevoli che le sfide non mancheranno, ma siamo altrettanto certi che, insieme, possiamo continuare a creare le condizioni per uno sviluppo sostenibile e generativo della nostra comunità.

Cultivating hope is a core principle for the Community Foundation: it characterises all of our actions. The social report is therefore for us a tool for reporting on the responsibilities, behaviours and social, environmental and economic results of our activities. Below you will find the "Letter to the Community" with which we present the sense of the work carried out over the past year, and at the end the complete Social Report for you to download and read.Like a gardenThis year we wanted to trace and describe our journey guided by a powerful and evocative image: that of the Pantesco garden. The Pantelleria garden is a walled structure typical of the island of Pantelleria: it is an ancient and ingenious structure that protects and nourishes life despite the difficulties. It consists of circular walls of lava stone and allows the creation of an ideal microclimate for the luxuriant growth of plants in an environment otherwise hostile to agriculture. Within these walls, citrus trees find shelter from the wind, receiving the moisture they need to thrive. And, despite this protection, the Pantelleria garden remains open for trade as it has no roof. For several years now, and particularly during 2023, our Community Foundation has operated as a true Pantelleria garden, helping to build walls of support, solidarity and civic engagement around our community. While remaining an open ecosystem. In this way we have on many occasions created a safe space where ideas, initiatives and dreams could germinate and grow. In an often complex and difficult context, we have worked tirelessly to cultivate potential and support the people and organisations we walk alongside step by step. This year, we have promoted social initiatives that have strengthened a sense of community and belonging; we have implemented educational projects that have given young people the opportunity to grow and develop their skills; we have supported social enterprise projects that have enhanced our heritage and given job opportunities to people who are now experiencing moments of fragility. Every programme, every project, every initiative, every small step forward has been possible thanks to the constant contribution of our partners, supporters and volunteers. Like the stones that make up the Pantelleria garden, each of you has been instrumental in building this infrastructure of hope and possibility. We look to the future with the same vision and concreteness that have guided us so far. We are aware that challenges will not be lacking, but we are equally certain that, together, we can continue to create the conditions for a sustainable and generative development of our community.
