Esperienze di scambio: Lecco e Agrigento unite da Legalità e Bellezza

Dal 29 al 31 maggio 2024 si è svolta la seconda edizione delle esperienze di scambio per giovani previste dal progetto Drop-in, con il filo conduttore "Legalità e Bellezza". Questa volta, 10 ragazzi e ragazze e 4 educatori di Lecco hanno avuto l'opportunità di conoscere e vivere il territorio agrigentino, rafforzando il legame tra i territori coinvolti nel progetto, nel nome di valori condivisi e di una memoria storica comune.

Il progetto Drop-in e il tema “Legalità e Bellezza”

Il progetto Drop-in, selezionato da Con i Bambini nell’ambito del Fondo per il contrasto della povertà educativa minorile, mira a sostenere la transizione alla vita adulta degli adolescenti, stimolandoli a costruire un proprio progetto di vita attraverso esperienze significative. Co-finanziato dalla Fondazione Peppino Vismara e con La Grande Casa Società Cooperativa Sociale come capofila, il progetto quest'anno ha visto i giovani lecchesi esplorare il tema della legalità e bellezza nel cuore della Sicilia.

La scelta del tema "Legalità e Bellezza" è stata guidata dalla volontà di trasmettere ai ragazzi non solo la conoscenza di luoghi emblematici, ma soprattutto le storie e i valori che essi incarnano. Un approccio che mira a radicare nei giovani una profonda consapevolezza dell'importanza della memoria storica e dell'impegno civile.

Arte tra passato e futuro

La visita è iniziata con un'immersione nell'arte contemporanea presso Farm Cultural Park, un museo “inusuale” situato nel centro storico di Favara (AG). Questo spazio innovativo ha permesso ai partecipanti di riflettere sul potere rigenerativo ed educativo dell'arte. Il viaggio è proseguito con una visita guidata al Parco della Valle dei Templi di Agrigento, dove i ragazzi hanno potuto ammirare l'imponenza e la bellezza dei resti archeologici, simbolo di una storia millenaria e multiculturale.

La cucina dell’inclusione

Due momenti di grande significato hanno visto nella cucina uno strumento di crescita e inclusione.

Durante il workshop di cucina presso il laboratorio delle scuole di Euroform i giovani lecchesi hanno potuto mettere le mani in pasta, apprendendo tecniche culinarie e scoprendo il valore della cucina come strumento di crescita professionale e opportunità lavorativa per i tanti giovani che frequentano i corsi della stessa associazione.

L'incontro con Mareme Cissè, chef del ristorante Ginger gestito dalla cooperativa sociale Al Kharub, e Carmelo Roccaro della stessa cooperativa, ha offerto un'occasione unica di confronto: la chef ha condiviso la sua esperienza di integrazione tramite la ristorazione, avvenuta dopo essere immigrata in Italia, e come la cucina l'abbia aiutata a trovare un suo posto nella nuova comunità.

Eredità di coraggio e legalità

Un momento particolarmente arricchente e toccante è stata la breve cerimonia presso la Stele commemorativa che ricorda l’uccisione del Giudice Rosario Livatino. Qui, i ragazzi hanno incontrato Giovanni Lo Iacono, Presidente della cooperativa sociale intitolata a Livatino, che ha illustrato il lavoro svolto sui terreni confiscati alla mafia. Enzo Gallo e Giuseppe Palilla dell'Associazione “Amici del Giudice Rosario Livatino” hanno portato il loro ricordo del giudice, condividendo storie di coraggio, onestà e impegno per la legalità che caratterizzavano ogni aspetto della vita del Giudice.

Questa tappa del progetto Drop-in ha sottolineato ancora una volta il filo rosso che unisce Lecco ad Agrigento: un filo rosso di legalità tra Rosario Livatino e Piero Nava, lecchese, testimone oculare dell'omicidio del giudice.

Legalità e bellezza si confermano come i pilastri di un percorso educativo che mira a formare cittadini consapevoli e attivi, pronti a costruire un futuro migliore.

From May 29 to 31, 2024, the second edition of the youth exchange experiences organized under the **Drop-in project** took place, with the guiding theme of "Legality and Beauty." This time, 10 young people and 4 educators from Lecco had the opportunity to explore and experience the Agrigento area, strengthening the bond between the territories involved in the project through shared values and common historical memory.

The Drop-in Project and the Theme "Legality and Beauty"

The Drop-in project, selected by Con i Bambini as part of the Fund for the fight against educational poverty among minors, aims to support adolescents' transition to adult life by encouraging them to build their own life plans through significant experiences. Co-financed by the Peppino Vismara Foundation and led by La Grande Casa Società Cooperativa Sociale, this year's project saw young people from Lecco exploring the theme of legality and beauty in the heart of Sicily.

The choice of the theme "Legality and Beauty" was driven by the desire to impart to the young participants not just the knowledge of emblematic places, but above all the stories and values they embody. This approach aims to instill in young people a deep awareness of the importance of historical memory and civic engagement.

Art Between Past and Future

The visit began with an immersion in contemporary art at Farm Cultural Park, an "unusual" museum located in the historic center of Favara (AG). This innovative space allowed participants to reflect on the regenerative and educational power of art. The journey continued with a guided tour of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, where the young people admired the grandeur and beauty of the archaeological remains, symbols of a millennia-old, multicultural history.

The Cuisine of Inclusion

Two highly significant moments used cuisine as a tool for growth and inclusion.

During a cooking workshop at Euroform's school laboratories, the young people from Lecco got hands-on experience, learning culinary techniques and discovering the value of cuisine as a tool for professional growth and employment opportunities for the many young people attending courses at the same association.

The meeting with Mareme Cissé, chef at Ginger restaurant managed by the social cooperative Al Kharub, and Carmelo Roccaro from the same cooperative, provided a unique opportunity for discussion: the chef shared her experience of integration through gastronomy after immigrating to Italy and how cooking helped her find her place in the new community.

Legacy of Courage and Legality

A particularly enriching and touching moment was the brief ceremony at the commemorative stele that marks the assassination of Judge Rosario Livatino. Here, the young people met Giovanni Lo Iacono, President of the social cooperative named after Livatino, who illustrated the work done on lands confiscated from the mafia. Enzo Gallo and Giuseppe Palilla from the "Friends of Judge Rosario Livatino" Association shared their memories of the judge, recounting stories of courage, honesty, and commitment to legality that characterized every aspect of his life.

This stage of the Drop-in project once again highlighted the red thread that connects Lecco to Agrigento: a red thread of legality between Rosario Livatino and Piero Nava, from Lecco, who was an eyewitness to the judge's murder.

Legality and beauty are confirmed as pillars of an educational path aimed at forming conscious and active citizens, ready to build a better future.
