Inaugurato a Cammarata il Centro diurno “La Casa di Stefy”

È proprio vero che i sogni se ci si crede si realizzano. Ed il sogno dei ragazzi e delle ragazze con diversa abilità di cui l’Arca onlus si prende cura si è concretizzato. Infatti, lo scorso 21 ottobre, sono stati inaugurati, dopo anni di attese e impegno, il Centro diurno “La Casa di Stefy” e il Centro Ludico “Batticinque” a Cammarata.

Entrambi i centri saranno gestiti dalla cooperativa sociale Santa Maria di Gesù, impresa sociale nata dalla volontà dell’Arca onlus e sostenuta anche dalla Fondazione Comunitaria di Agrigento e Trapani. Presso il Centro diurno “La Casa di Stefy” saranno realizzati laboratori di ceramica, falegnameria, corniceria, stamperia, cucina, attività sportive volti ad aumentare l’autonomia delle persone con diversa abilità. Invece, presso il Centro Ludico “Batticinque” saranno coinvolti anche i bambini dai 3 agli 11 anni in laboratori creativi, giochi educativi, letture di fiabe, scrittura creativa, canto e ballo, laboratori di cucina, doposcuola.

In tanti hanno contribuito alla realizzazione di questa opera di comunità, che ha riguardato sia la ristrutturazione dei locali che la costruzione di un ascensore esterno che permetterà anche a chi non deambula bene di potere accedere ai diversi piani dell’edificio e quindi alle varie attività proposte. Hanno creduto e sostenuto il progetto anche importanti organizzazioni nazionali coinvolte dalla Fondazione di Comunità, tra cui la Fondazione Peppino Vismara e UniCredit attraverso i fondi della Carta Etica.

In rappresentanza della Fondazione di Comunità all’inaugurazione è intervenuto il Consigliere Diego Guadagnino che ha spiegato come la Fondazione di Comunità promuove e accompagna iniziative di imprenditorialità sociale finalizzate a dare risposte ai bisogni del territorio e della comunità costruendo alleanze e azioni di sistema. It is indeed true that dreams come true if you believe in them. And the dream of the boys and girls with different abilities that Arca onlus takes care of has come true. In fact, last 21 October, after years of waiting and commitment, the 'La Casa di Stefy' day centre and the 'Batticinque' play centre in Cammarata were inaugurated.

Both centres will be managed by the Santa Maria di Gesù social cooperative, a social enterprise set up by Arca onlus and also supported by the Agrigento and Trapani Community Foundation. At the "La Casa di Stefy" day care centre, workshops will be held in ceramics, carpentry, cornicing, printing, cooking, and sports activities aimed at increasing the autonomy of people with different abilities. On the other hand, at the 'Batticinque' play centre, children aged 3 to 11 will be involved in creative workshops, educational games, fairy tale readings, creative writing, singing and dancing, cooking workshops, and after-school activities.

Many have contributed to the realisation of this community work, which has involved both the renovation of the premises and the construction of an outdoor lift that will allow even those who are not ambulatory well to be able to access the different floors of the building and thus the various activities on offer. Important national organisations involved by the Community Foundation, including the Peppino Vismara Foundation and UniCredit through the funds of the Ethics Charter, also believed in and supported the project.

Representing the Community Foundation at the inauguration was the Councillor Diego Guadagnino, who explained how the Community Foundation promotes and accompanies social entrepreneurship initiatives aimed at responding to local and community needs by building alliances and systemic actions.
