Prendono il via le attività del progetto T.R.A.P. all’Istituto Walden di Menfi.

Nel mese di aprile è stata avviata l'esperienza pilota "Youth Bank", un percorso laboratoriale realizzato nell'ambito del progetto T.R.A.P. - Tutt* Rivendichiamo Altre Prospettive.

T.R.A.P. è un progetto selezionato da Con i Bambini nell’ambito del Fondo per il contrasto della povertà educativa minorile. Si rivolge a minori in carico agli organi della Giustizia minorile, alle loro famiglie, agli operatori dell’U.S.S.M. (Ufficio di Servizio Sociale per Minorenni) e dei servizi sociali, con l’obiettivo di costruire un approccio integrato di attività che permettano ai minori coinvolti di scoprire e desiderare prospettive al di là della violenza. La Fondazione Comunitaria di Agrigento e Trapani curerà l'esperienza “Youth Bank”, la Banca dei Giovani: un’iniziativa attiva in numerosi Paesi del mondo e che porteremo a Menfi (AG) rivolgendola un gruppo di adolescenti segnalati dall’Autorità Giudiziaria minorile e già in carico agli U.S.S.M., ospiti della Comunità alloggio dell’Istituto Walden S.C.S Onlus. La “Youth Bank” ha come obiettivo il sostegno del processo di responsabilizzazione dei minori inserendoli in un sistema di finanziamento di progetti realizzati da altri giovani (in questo caso gli altri centri territoriali in Sicilia coinvolti nel progetto T.R.A.P.). I minori faranno parte di un comitato di gestione della “Youth Bank”; dopo un percorso di formazione per imparare a individuare i bisogni della comunità, costruirà e gestirà un vero e proprio bando rivolto ai coetanei per l’assegnazione di un micro-grant. Gli stessi minori valuteranno le idee da supportare e realizzare. Questa attività permetterà ai giovani di svolgere un ruolo da protagonisti contribuendo a migliorare la propria comunità, riconoscendosi responsabili di generare dei cambiamenti reali. Vogliamo restituire loro la magia della creatività, trasmettere il desiderio di rendere possibili cose impossibili, insegnare loro quanto sia importante progettare per se stessi, ma anche per le persone che li circondano. Le attività della “Youth Bank” sono cominciate il 20 aprile a Menfi e sono stati svolti i primi tre incontri. Il primo giorno, dopo delle attività di ice-breaking (dei momenti per rompere il ghiaccio e creare un ambiente rilassato e inclusivo, incoraggiando le persone a conoscere meglio e connettersi tra loro) e un’introduzione al lavoro da fare insieme, i ragazzi hanno preso parte ad un’attività immaginativa individuando tutti quei servizi, essenziali e non, di cui una società ha bisogno per andare avanti e, successivamente, costruendo a tutti gli effetti la loro realtà ideale. I temi trattati nel secondo incontro sono stati la Cittadinanza Attiva e la Costituzione. Attraverso giochi e attività interattive, sono venuti a contatto con i principali diritti e doveri di un cittadino italiano. Il terzo incontro ha avuto il focus, invece, sugli Obiettivi dell’Agenda 2030 per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile della Nazioni Unite: i ragazzi hanno individuato quelli per loro prioritari, in base al loro vissuto, ai loro valori e alla loro idea di società ideale. Su questi Obiettivi verterà il bando della “Youth Bank” che verrà costruito nei prossimi incontri.

I ragazzi stanno dimostrando di avere grandi capacità immaginative e di conoscere bene sia i loro diritti che i loro doveri da cittadini; stanno delineando le loro responsabilità e i loro valori da giovani adulti, con le specifiche esigenze della loro particolare fase evolutiva. Il valore educativo di questa attività sta nel permettere ai ragazzi di comprendere che tutti, loro compresi, possono lottare per un futuro migliore del pianeta e di chi lo abita.

In April, the pilot experience "Youth Bank" was launched, a laboratory journey carried out within the T.R.A.P. project - Tutt* Rivendichiamo Altre Prospettive (We All Claim Other Perspectives).

T.R.A.P. is a project selected by Con i Bambini (With the Children) under the Fund for Countering Educational Poverty in Minors. It is aimed at minors under the care of the juvenile justice organs, their families, the operators of the U.S.S.M. (Office of Social Services for Minors), and social services, with the aim of building an integrated approach to activities that allow the involved minors to discover and desire perspectives beyond violence. The Community Foundation of Agrigento and Trapani will take care of the "Youth Bank" experience, the Youth's Bank: an initiative active in many countries worldwide that we will bring to Menfi (AG) aimed at a group of teenagers reported by the Juvenile Judicial Authority and already under the U.S.S.M.'s care, guests of the community accommodation of the Walden Institute S.C.S Onlus. The "Youth Bank" aims to support the minors' responsibility process by inserting them into a financing system for projects carried out by other young people (in this case, the other territorial centers in Sicily involved in the T.R.A.P. project). The minors will be part of a management committee of the "Youth Bank"; after a training course to learn how to identify the community's needs, they will build and manage a real call for applications for the allocation of a micro-grant. The same minors will evaluate the ideas to support and implement. This activity will allow the young people to play a leading role in improving their community, recognizing themselves as responsible for generating real changes. We want to give them back the magic of creativity, convey the desire to make impossible things possible, teach them how important it is to plan for themselves, but also for the people around them.

The activities of the "Youth Bank" began on April 20 in Menfi, and the first three meetings have been held. On the first day, after some ice-breaking activities and an introduction to the work to do together, the kids took part in an imaginative activity identifying all those services, essential and not, that a society needs to go forward and then actually building their ideal reality. The topics covered in the second meeting were Active Citizenship and the Constitution. Through games and interactive activities, they came into contact with the main rights and duties of an Italian citizen. The third meeting, instead, focused on the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals: the boys identified the ones that are a priority for them, based on their experiences, their values, and their idea of an ideal society. These Goals will form the basis of the "Youth Bank" call for applications that will be constructed in the coming meetings.

The boys are showing great imaginative skills and a good knowledge of their rights and duties as citizens; they are outlining their responsibilities and their values as young adults, with the specific needs of their particular stage of development. The educational value of this activity lies in allowing the boys to understand that everyone, including them, can fight for a better future for the planet and its inhabitants.
