Prima riunione del Comitato d’Indirizzo

Lunedì 7 dicembre si è tenuta la prima riunione del Comitato d’indirizzo della Fondazione Comunitaria in modalità video conferenza, così come richiesto dalla situazione emergenziale che stiamo vivendo. A questo primo incontro hanno partecipato anche i componenti del Consiglio di amministrazione e dello staff della Fondazione, al fine di agevolare la conoscenza reciproca ed il lavoro sinergico.

I componenti - individuati tra persone con esperienza significativa nei campi dell’imprenditorialità sociale, delle professioni, del management, dell’accademia o delle attività filantropiche - contribuiranno all’identificazione delle linee fondamentali e degli indirizzi sociali, culturali ed economici della Fondazione.

L’incontro ha fatto emergere importanti spunti di riflessione sulle esigenze prioritarie del territorio delle province di Agrigento e Trapani e sulle più generali sfide sociali ed economiche. L’incontro ha visto anche la presentazione del paradigma della Generatività sociale approccio scelto dalla fondazione per orientare il proprio lavoro di sviluppo comunitario.

La Generatività sociale è stata illustrata dall’economista e sociologo dell’Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore Mauro Magatti, membro del Comitato d’Indirizzo: “tanto al Sud quanto dalle altre parti d’Italia, la logica per cui dal consumo e il consumismo deriva il benessere delle persone e del Paese non ha funzionato. Questa logica distrugge il legame sociale. In realtà, prima che essere consumatori, siamo generatori. Si tratta di mettere al mondo valore comune, attraverso questa azione legarci alla realtà e prendercene cura.”

Anche durante l’intervento di Johnny Dotti, pedagogista ed imprenditore sociale e anche lui parte del Comitato d’indirizzo, è emersa la stessa esigenza, cioè di slegare il Sud dalla retorica per cui “si deve creare lavoro” per cambiare paradigma: creare valore e da lì lavoro.

Il Consiglio di Amministrazione e il Direttore della Fondazione Comunitaria hanno commentato durante l’incontro come “nella gestione della complessità non si può prescindere dalle persone e, in tal senso, vogliamo che ciascun membro del Comitato d’Indirizzo si senta corresponsabile dello sviluppo della Fondazione, ma soprattutto dello sviluppo del nostro territorio. A loro il nostro benvenuto e un augurio di buon lavoro.”

A gennaio il prossimo incontro per lavorare alla stesura del documento che conterrà il “minimo comune denominatore” che il Comitato vorrà porre come base per il proprio lavoro, ovvero su come contribuire allo sviluppo del territorio attraverso la Fondazione di Comunità nella prospettiva della Generatività Sociale.

On Monday, December 7th, the first meeting of the Steering Committee of the Community Foundation was held via video conference, as required by the emergency situation we are experiencing. At this initial meeting, members of the Board of Directors and the Foundation's staff also participated to facilitate mutual acquaintance and collaborative work.

The members of the committee, selected from individuals with significant experience in the fields of social entrepreneurship, professions, management, academia, or philanthropic activities, will contribute to the identification of the fundamental guidelines and social, cultural, and economic directions of the Foundation.

• Martina Ferracane: President of the FabLab Western Sicily and Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute
• Alessandro La Grassa: Director of the GAL Valle del Belice and President of CRESM
• Mauro Magatti: Full Professor at the Catholic University of Milan
• Viviana Rizzuto: Founder and President of the "Identità & Bellezza" Community Cooperative, which manages the Museo Diffuso dei 5 Sensi in Sciacca

The meeting brought forth important reflections on the priority needs of the provinces of Agrigento and Trapani, as well as on more general social and economic challenges. The meeting also included the presentation of the social generativity paradigm, an approach chosen by the foundation to guide its community development work.

Social generativity was explained by Mauro Magatti, an economist and sociologist at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and a member of the Steering Committee: "Both in the South and in other parts of Italy, the logic that well-being for individuals and the country derives from consumption and consumerism has not worked. This logic destroys social bonds. In reality, before being consumers, we are generators. It's about bringing common value into the world, connecting with reality, and taking care of it."

During Johnny Dotti's speech, a pedagogue and social entrepreneur who is also part of the Steering Committee, the same need emerged, namely, to break away from the rhetoric that "jobs must be created" in the South and change the paradigm to create value and jobs from there.

The Board of Directors and the Director of the Community Foundation commented during the meeting that "in managing complexity, we cannot do without people, and in this sense, we want each member of the Steering Committee to feel co-responsible for the development of the Foundation, but above all for the development of our territory. We welcome them and wish them good work."

The next meeting in January will work on drafting the document that will contain the "common denominator" that the Committee will want to establish as the basis for its work, i.e., how to contribute to the development of the territory through the Community Foundation in the perspective of Social Generativity.
